Scheduling Lessons Tutorial

Learn how to schedule one or more lessons in your Teachworks account.

1. Add Lesson

To schedule a lesson you can either 1) Click Calendar in the navigation menu and then click the Add Lesson option, 2) Click a date on the calendar, or 3) Select a timeslot on the Week or Day view of the calendar.

2. Select Students

You can select students in the student field, or you can leave this blank if you want to add students later.

3. Lesson Title

If you select a single student, the student's name will be set as the title by default, but you can change this to anything. The title is displayed on the event on the calendar.

4. Description

If you want to enter a description, check the Description box and a text box will appear.

5. Select Teacher & Service

Select a teacher and service. If you've set default services on the student's profile or if the student has purchased a package of lessons, these services will be grouped under the appropriate heading.

6. Set Location & Limit

Select the location for the lesson. If the lesson is open to more than one student, you can enter a limit. Leave the limit field blank for no limit.

7. Start & End

Select the start and end date and times for the lesson.

8. Repeat Settings

You can schedule repeating lessons by checking the "Repeat" box.

A window opens up with the repeat settings and includes a wide range of options such as repeating by day, week or month, spacing between lessons and ending on a specific date or after a specific number of lessons.

The repeat settings will be displayed next to the checkbox.

9. Check for Conflicts

Click the "Check Conflicts" button to find any availability, appointment or location conflicts for the scheduled lessons.

Any conflicts found will be displayed in a window. You can either make the necessary changes to the lesson or schedule the lesson and make changes later.

10. Schedule the Lessons

Click the Submit button to schedule the lessons.
